| Tag Rugby, 29th September 2011 |
|
We were lucky enough to go with Mr Lehmann and learn some new rugby skills at Crawley Rugby Club. The morning was spent learning new rugby skills with the club's coaches and Mick Orton from the RFU (Rugby Football Union), which would help us play Tag Rugby. I felt really excited to be learning tag rugby skills. My favourite bit was when we ran away from our partner - Ben Turner (St Bernadette) It was really fun because we got a belt with velcro on and a tag. Then we had to try and get each other's tag. It was awesome! - Ben Shackell (St Bernadette) Learning the required skills!
Most of us had never played Tag Rugby before and it was excellent to play the matches after we had learnt our skills. We then played a mini tournament and were split into two groups of four teams. We had to play two teams from Gossops Green and one of our own. We were given the team names of countries playing in the Rugby World Cup. It was a fabulous event and we throughly enjoyed the experience. My team was New Zealand and we won two out of three games - Viven Patel (St Anthony) I went to rugby on Thursday 29th September and found it exhausting playing in the tournament but it was really fun. - Amshika Kusan (St Anthony) The Teams!
We all enjoyed our time at the Rugby Club and can't wait to play again!
