Welcome to the Year 3 and 4 team!

This year we are welcoming Miss Lee to the school who will be teaching Year 3, Mr Lehmann in Year 3/4 and Mrs Brady in Year 4.

Topics

This year the children will be covering fun and exciting topics!

In the Autumn term the children will be exploring life in the Victorian times, Queen Victoria (whom the children have already met!), what it was like to be a Victorian child at work and at school and social reform.

As part of this topic the children will visit Preston Manor and become Victorian children for the day seeking employment in the Big House. With any luck a few children will gain employment and be able to send their wages back to you whilst working at Preston Manor!

As well as experiencing life as a Victorian servant, the children will be visited by a real life Victorian teacher and experience the trials and tribulations of a school child. Hopefully no one will experience the dunces hat or be caught writing left handed!

We will wrap up our Autumn term topic with a traditional Victorian Christmas celebration where the children will be able to perform poems, sing songs and taste the food they have made such as biscuits and soup.
