Good morning EYFS,
Welcome to Spring 2, Week 2 of Home Learning. We hope that you have had a wonderful half term and that you are ready to get going with your learning this week.
Here is an outline of the learning for this week:
Maths: In maths, we will be exploring 3D Shape
Additional Support: On the Home Learning page there is a section named ‘Maths Revision’. Here you will find videos and activities to support your child recapping key skills. The sheets to accompany the videos do not need to be printed; your child can complete their work in their exercise book or a copy of the sheets are in your Home Learning pack.
You can find additional activities that have been set on PurpleMash to support your learning and there are lots of tasks in the Home Learning Pack.
English: In Phonics, we will be focusing on rhyme, as well as recapping the letter sounds and tricky words we have learnt so far. In addition, we will be celebrating our love for books on World Book Day. We will also be sequencing the story of The Gingerbread Man.
Topic Theme: Our topic is ‘Once upon a time’ where we will be exploring different fairytales.
RE: This week is our final week of the ‘Gathering’ topic. We will be learning about and celebrating World Day of Prayer (Friday 5th March). Please visit the Video Centre to view the pre-recorded lessons and see your child’s pack for suggested activities to support this day.
EAD: We will be learning to retell stories and act out narratives. We will be dressing up as book characters and thinking about our favourite stories.
We will be using construction resources to build houses and models.
This week Mrs Jannece and Mrs Knight are teaching in class and Miss Brown will be available throughout the school day to assist with any Home Learning questions and queries.
